Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB) convenes the 2018 National Policy Summit (NPS)
CEOs, Executive Directors, and special guests representing multiple associations of professional licensing boards regulating over 5 Million licensees and protecting over 300 million U.S. Citizens met at the headquarters of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) in Mount Prospect, Illinois on July 26, 2018. The discussion and focus of the session was to bring a collective voice to smart regulations across all occupations and professions. With an eye towards maintaining public protection for citizens, the group discussed ways to improve the process of licensure access while building trust across state boundaries. FARB and its twenty Governing Members welcomed a progressive conversation with perspectives from a wide range of boards representing many health care professionals, design groups, and personal services. The membership plans to advance the discussion and amplify a common voice about smart regulation into many arenas including policymakers and consumers to insure public protection while supporting individual rights to pursue economic activities that require licensing.
FARB is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1974 to promote public protection and provide a forum for information exchange for associations of regulatory boards and their stakeholders with interests in professional regulation. The mission of FARB is to promote excellence in regulation for public protection by providing expertise and innovation from a multi-profession perspective.
